Vixens first trip to NCAA DIII South/Southeast Regional meet wraps 2018 slate

MOUNT BERRY, Ga, — Junior Victoria Lawson led Sweet Briar in the Vixens' first-ever trip to the NCAA Division III South/Southeast Region Cross Country Championship, hosted by Berry College on Saturday morning.

Lawson (Shipman, Va.) finished 151st in the field of 237 runners, recording a 6K time of 27:15.70. Lawson finished as one of the top-35 runners at regionals from the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Juniors Amber Snyder (Jefferson, Md.) and Erin Snyder (Jefferson, Md.) finished 183rd and 184th, respectively, with Amber recording a time of 28:52.21 and Erin finishing at 28:52.57.

Sophomore Hannah Marron (Beaverton, Ore.) posted a time of 32:52.93, to finish 220th. Rounding out the Sweet Briar lineup in 225th, was sophomore Nora Florio (Lynchburg, Va.) with a time of 33:29.61.

Sweet Briar finished 30th in the field of 32 teams with a team score of 856, 18 points behind Virginia Wesleyan and 14 ahead of Agnes Scott. The Vixens, also finished 34 points ahead of Mary Baldwin.

Annie Rodenfels of Centre finished first with a time of 21:44.80, while Lynchburg's Kaitlyn Johnson's time of 22:37.08 was the fastest from and ODAC runner and good for third on the day.

Emory topped the team standings with a score of 83.
