SALEM, Va.- On a beautiful Saturday morning at Mowles Spring Park, the Sweet Briar College cross country team competed in the Roanoke College Maroon Invitational. The women's 5k race featured seven teams, including Roanoke and Hollins University from the ODAC.
The Vixens were once again led by first-year Victoria Lawson. She finished 22nd overall in a time of 24:46. Lydia Gullicksen and Maggy O'Donnell were the next two Vixens to cross the line. Rounding out the Vixen runners were seniors Claire Zak, Kim Uglum and first-year Bailey Jones.
The host Maroons had the top-two individual finishers and won the team race with 21 points. Mary Baldwin College finished second with 97 points and Hollins rounded out the top three with 101 points.
Next Saturday, Sept. 24, the Vixens will compete at the Shenandoah Hornet Harrier. The race will be held at the Kernstown Battlefield in Winchester.
