Wandling snags singles win; Panthers top Vixens

FERRUM, Va. — Emily Wandling won her 11th singles match of the season, as the Vixens dropped an 8-1 decision at the Burrows-Skeens Tennis Courts to Ferrum on Monday afternoon.

Following a sweep of doubles by the Panthers, Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) earned the Vixens' lone victory at No. 1 singles. Wandling topped Morgan Scott 6-1 in the opening set, before edging the Panthers' top singles player- 7-6 (7-2) in the second set. Wandling's victory was the 11th of the season and 37th of her collegiate career.

Sweet Briar hits the road to Roanoke on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. ODAC match at Hollins.
