Yellow Jackets top Vixens in Ashland

ASHLAND, Va. — Host Randolph-Macon took a 9-0 decision at the Banks Tennis Center on Saturday morning from the visiting Vixens.

Sweet Briar (2-0, 0-4 ODAC) picked up a win in one game during doubles action, with the No. 1 pairing of juniors Emily Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) and Lacey Tucker (Swansboro, N.C.) falling 8-1 to Morgan Fuqua and Stephanie Yeager.

Singles action saw sophomore My-Xuan Hillengas () win one game, in a 6-0, 6-1 loss to Daniella Hafner at No. 6 singles.

Tucker and fellow junior Lexi Culley (Louisa, Va.) both won a game each at No. 3 and No. 2 singles, respectively.

Wandling dropped the opening set at No. 1 to Fuqua, but won a tight 7-6 second before falling 10-8 in the third-set tiebreaker.

Sweet Briar continues the ODAC slate on Tuesday, April 9, with a 4 p.m. first serve scheduled at Shenandoah.
