Top doubles battle highlights Vixens match with Greyhounds

HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. — Day two of Spring TennisFest saw the Vixens fall 9-0 to Moravian, despite a strong showing at No. 1 doubles by juniors Lacey Tucker and Emily Wandling at the Chaplin Park Tennis Center.

Wandling (Mechanicsville, Va.) and Tucker (Swansboro, N.C.) fell 8-5 at No. 1 doubles to Mary Angle and Lauren Steinert, in the closest doubles match of the day.

Singles play saw junior Lexi Culley (Louisa, Va.) drop a 6-1, 6-0 decision to Angle at No. 2 singles, while Wandling played a tight match at No. 1 before falling 6-3, 6-4 to Emma Angle.

Sweet Briar's spring break continues on Thursday with a 12 p.m. match scheduled against Penn State-Harrisburg, scheduled to take place at the Evian Tennis Center.
