LEXINGTON, Va. — The Sweet Briar swim team joined other ODAC squads at the ODAC Relays, finishing ninth in the event hosted by Washington & Lee at the W&L Natatorium on Saturday.
Sweet Briar opened with a 1:45.79 in the 3x50-butterfly, with sophomore Dharma Kear (Virginia Beach, Va.), sophomore Lauren Graham (Atlanta, Ga.) and first-year Natalie Waldo (Woodstock, Ga.) placing 14th in the event.
The Vixens posted a time of 2:00.12 in the 3x50-backstroke, finishing 15th with the trio of sophomore Sarah Ahson (Manassas, Va.), first-year Taylor Shaw (Virginia Beach, Va.) and first-year Channing Entrican.
The 500-yard relay with legs of 50, 100, 150 and 200 finished with the Vixens 14th, as Shaw, Graham, Waldo and Kear touched with a time of 6:14.86.
Shaw, Entrican, Waldo and Jones teamed up in the 200-yard medley relay, placing 15th with a time of 2:48.56.
The 200-yard freestyle relay ended with Sweet Briar in 12th with a time of 2:03.35 from Graham, Florio, Kear and sophomore Theresa Carriveau (West Chicago, Ill.).
Sweet Briar's final swim came in the 8x25-free relay, which resulted in the Vixens finishing eighth with a time of 2:03.26. Ahson, Waldo, Florio, Shaw, Graham, Jones, Entrican and Kear made up the Vixens' final relay squad.
The Vixens finished ninth in the team standings, four points ahead of Randolph in 10th and three points behind Virginia Wesleyan in eighth.
Washington & Lee was the women's team winner on Saturday with 472 points in the meet.
