Cavalier Spring Invite kicks off spring golf season

FLETCHER, N.C. — Playing in freezing temperatures, Sweet Briar first-year Annika Kuleba finished tied for 21st at the Cavalier Spring Invitational, hosted by Montreat College at Broadmoor Golf Links.

Playing as an individual, Kuleba (Endy, N.C.) finished with a two-day 205 (+61, 100-105) to finished tied for 21st, in the 32-player field, with Abby Gray of Montreat and Sidney Trimble of Kentucky Christian.

Kelsey Cassada of Tennessee Wesleyan was the individual medalist carding a 36-hole 165 (+21, 85-80).

Tennessee Wesleyan was the team champion with the Bulldogs posting a score of 675 (+99, 344-331), topping the five-team field.

The true spring season will get underway for the Vixens at the end of March, when Sweet Briar competes at the Eagle Invitational on March 30 and 31. The Eagle Invitational, hosted by Mary Washington, will take place at Augustine Golf Club in Stafford, Va.
