WACO, Texas — The Sweet Briar NCEA team has learned its first-round fate at the National Collegiate Equestrian Championship beginning on April 17, as the NCEA announced the brackets for on Tuesday afternoon.

Over fences, the Vixens earned the No. 8 seed in the field of 14 teams and will match-up in the opening round against No. 9 Delaware State. The Vixens and Hornets previously met in October, with the Vixens topping Delaware State 4-1 over fences.

Against Delaware State, first-year Charlotte Hadley (Tiverton, R.I.) was named Most Outstanding Performer, while scoring 82 points during her ride.

The winner of the Sweet Briar and Delaware State dual will meet No. 1 Auburn over fences in the quarterfinals. Sweet Briar and Auburn have never met in NCEA competition.
