LANCASTER, Pa. — First-year Brigitte Gorman scored the game winner, while fellow first-year Emily Myers and sophomore Alexis Jones added insurance goals in Sweet Briar's 3-0 victory over Lancaster Bible at Donald H. Funk Field on Friday afternoon.
The Vixens (3-8) scored the eventual game winner in the 20th minute when Gorman (Chesapeake, Va.) collected a rebound and slotted a shot by the Chargers' (0-12) goalkeeper, Anne Vanbuskirk.
After taking a 1-0 lead into halftime, the Vixens re-opened the scoring in the 43rd minute when Myers (Fredericksburg, Va.) fired a bouncing shot past Vanbuskirk.
The final Sweet Briar goal came in the 52nd minute as Jones (Suffolk, Va.) converted a solo effort for her fourth goal of the season.
Sophomore goalkeeper Rosemary Austin (Commerce Township, Mich.) tallied one save in goal.
Myers' goal was her third of the season, while Gorman's was her second of the year.
Sweet Briar and Lancaster Bible meet-up once again on Saturday with the season finale set to get started at 2 p.m.
