SWEET BRIAR, Va.- The Sweet Briar College field hockey team honored the team's six players who are playing their final season before Sunday's game against Ferrum College. The Panthers won the match, 9-0.
Rachel Rogers, Erica Orr, Taylor Fischer, Jess Kennedy, Chelsea McKinney, and Alison Davis were all recognized with their families before the start of the game for their dedication to the athletic department and Sweet Briar as a whole.
A resilient team, the Vixens played to the final whistle and earned three penalty corners in the final minute of play.
First-year Rosemary Austin had one of her best games of the season, making 21 saves in the losing effort. Austin will end the season with 215 saves and an average of 19.5 saves per game, which leads NCAA Division III.
