WINCHESTER, Va. --- The Sweet Briar Field Hockey team traveled to Shenandoah University on Thursday evening for an Old Dominion Athletic Conference matchup under the lights at Shentel Stadium. The Vixens fell to the Hornets 8-0 in the contest.
The SBC defensive line played well throughout the game. Sophomore Adelaide Hedge (Winston-Salem, N.C./Mt. Tabor) rallied the defense from her sweeper position. The Vixens were faced with defending 15 penalty corners and relied on communication and hustle in turning back several tries from the Hornets.
Senior Brooke Scott (Kemah, Tex./Episcopal) faced 32 shots on the evening. For the third time in four games she tallied over 20 saves in the contest (23).
SweetBriar returns to action on Wednesday, September 10 when they host Randolph-Macon College in a match beginning at 4:45p.m. (please note time change)
