Eight Vixens earn academic nod from IHSA

FAIRFIELD, Conn. — Eight members of the Sweet Briar College Intercollegiate Horse Shows Association equestrian team have been recognized as recipients of IHSA National All-Academic Awards, the organization announced.

Juniors Isabel Joyner and Amber Snyder (Jefferson, Md.) were recognized as first team honorees by the IHSA.

To be named All-Academic First Team, student-athletes must hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.8 or higher, while participating in at least one regular season IHSA horse show during the academic year.

Five Vixens picked up second team nods, by holding a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher.

All-Academic Second Team selections included: junior Kate Albert, junior Lauren Helber (Richmond, Va.), junior McKenzie Michiels (Mill Creek, Wash.), junior Cassie Mills (Morrisville, N.C.), senior Ailish Rhoades (Lebanon, Conn.) and junior Erin Snyder (Jefferson, Md.).
