The Sweet Briar SAAC and Chaplain's Office are once again joining forces to provide gifts for local children in need this holiday season. In the FAC lobby is an angel tree with information on different children at Miriam's House, a shelter serving homeless single women or mothers and their children in Lynchburg.
"One of the core values of Division III Athletics is service that benefits the greater community," said SAAC president Claire Zak. "It is important to step back from our egocentric world every once in a while to shift your perspective from, 'How can I help myself?' to, 'How can I help others?' There is no better feeling than knowing that you have made a positive difference in someone else's life. Our Angel Tree is a perfect opportunity to do something small that will create a big impact."
Gifts are due back under the tree, with the angel attached to the package, by Friday Dec. 9th. More information about Miriam's House can be found here.
