Teresa Boylan enters her fourth season with the Sweet Briar Vixen Tennis team.  Boylan started her collegiate coaching career in 1996 at Division I Cleveland State University as the Head Coach of Women's Tennis. In 1999, she took on the additional duties of the Head Coach of Men's Tennis. Boylan was instrumental in resurrecting the Men's tennis program from a seven-year hiatus. Coach Boylan was selected Coach of the Year in the Horizon League (formerly the Mid-West Collegiate Conference) in 2000. 

In addition to Boylan's attention to the player's on-court performance, the importance of academics is apparent under her guidance. Boylan's tennis teams won the athletic department's Academic Achievement Award, presented to the team with the highest grade point average, for three consecutive years.

Prior to coaching at Sweet Briar, Boylan was the Coordinator of New Tennis Programs at the River Oaks Racquet Club in Rocky River, Ohio. She introduced Cardio Tennis, Youth Rally Ball, World Team Tennis and USTA sanctioned tournaments to the Club.

Boylan, a United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) P1 teaching pro for over 14 years, has also earned the highly regarded USTA certified High Performance Coach designation. She has been a USTA Zonal Coach, a Junior Wightman Cup Coach, Tournament Director and has worked an assortment of tennis camps around the Cleveland, Ohio area. This summer Boylan was selected to coach the USTA Mid-Atlantic Section 16-and-under Zonal team at Wake Forrest University. Boylan is also a member of the United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) and enjoys her involvement with the Virginia and Mid-Atlantic USTA tournaments and player development.

The Intercollegiate Tennis Association/USTA Nancy Mickler Community Service Award was presented to Boylan in recognition of her tireless efforts to grow the game of tennis.

Coach Boylan earned a Bachelor of Science in education from Cleveland State University in 2000 and a Masters of Science in Sports Management and Exercise Science in 2007.
