SKILLMAN, N.J. --- The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) recently announced the 2013 Women's Division III Academic Award Winners. Sweet Briar College tennis players Yuliya Rigg (Sweet Briar, Va./Amherst) and Emma Merrit-Cuneo (Pacifica, Calif./Oceana) received ITA scholar-athlete honors .
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semester.
Rigg graduated SBC in May with a degree in economics. She is currently working in the Emory & Henry College admissions department and pursuing a master's degree at E & H. Merrit-Cuneo completed her third season this past spring and returns to Vixen Tennis in a few short weeks.
