Sweet Briar Swimmers Snag Another Honor

EVANSTON, Ill. --- The College Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) has announced Sweet Briar College as a member of the 2013 Scholar All America Team.

The Scholar All America Team award is presented to college and university swimming and diving teams, who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  Vixen swimmers earned an overall 3.3 grade point average to qualify for the CSCAA honor.

SBC's 3.3 mark is higher than last year's achievement.  The Vixens earned a 3.22 to secure a spot on the 2012 Scholar All America Team.

Head Vixen Swimming Coach Jason Gallaher commented, "Our swimmers were very conscientious in their studies.  Their strong work in the classroom extended to the pool.  I'm very proud of they way they handle themselves both academically and athletically, and I'm looking forward to working with them, and our new swimmers this fall."

Gallaher and the swimming team begin practice in early September and compete in the season's first meet on Friday, October 11 at the Women's College Invite hosted by Converse College.
