Sophomore Standout Tabbed December Vixen of the Month

SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- The Sweet Briar College Athletics Department announces sophomore swimmer Marian Huber as December's Vixen of the Month.  Huber, a Newport News native and Menchville High School graduate, claimed first place finishes in four out of five events over a two-day period for the Vixens.

Huber posted a strong performance at Bridgewater College on December 2.  During the meet in Harrisonburg, Huber won the 200m breastroke event while finishing only 11 one-hundredths of a second out of first place in the 100m breastroke race.  The sophomore sensation continued to impress the following day during the double-dual meet with Hollins and Ferrum.  On Saturday, December 3, Huber garnered wins in the 200m Individual Medley Relay and 100m breastroke events.  She also helped her team to a victory in the 200m medley relay.  In the individual races, Huber posted season's best times.

Notes Head Vixen Swim Coach Jason Gallaher, "Marian is very dependable.  We can always count on her to race well, regardless of what we ask her to swim.  She is a tireless worker and a great teammate."

Huber and the entire Vixen swim squad return to conference competition after a weeklong winter training session in Sanford, Fla. on January 17.  SBC travels to Hollins for a 6pm swim meet on Tuesday.
