Swimmers Fall To Randolph-Macon

Ashland, Va. ---   The Sweet Briar swim team fell to Randolph-Macon College 141-108 in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference meet held at the R-MC campus on Saturday afternoon.

The Vixens received strong performances from several swimmers.  Among the standouts for the day were senior Emily Jones (King George, Va./King George), sophomore Vida McCahey (Novato, Calif./Novato) and junior Dani Humphrey (Vienna, Va./James Madision).  First-year Chloe Day (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) also performed well in the backstroke events.  Day finished the 100 yard backstroke in 1:06.15 and touched in the 200 yard backstroke in 2:22.40.

"We had some really good individual swims and races today," observed head coach Jason Gallaher.   "We swam against a great team, so this was a good way for us to gauge how we match up against some great competition."

Sweet Briar returns to the pool for their final regular season meet on Saturday, January 28th.  The Vixens will honor their senior swimmers before the meet versus Greensboro College that is set to begin at 1:00pm.
