Neumann Doubles Up SBC Lacrosse

ASTON, Pa. --- Vixen Lacrosse began their week of spring break competitions with a contest against the Neumann University Knights.   Sweet Briar scored first, but quickly gave up the equalizer seconds later and that set the tone for the game.

The Knights connected for six goals to Sweet Briar's three in the first period.  After intermission SBC, still unable to fire up its offense, managed only two goals while NU netted four goals to walk away with the 10-5 win.

The SBC side, accustomed to putting five or more players in the scoring column with multiple goals, was limited to one multi-goal scorer.  Sweet Briar committed a season high 25 turnovers.

Charlotte Davis (Alexandria, Va. / The Field School) led the attack with two goals and one assist. Caroline Baker (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) played the full game between the pipes and made 12 saves on 22 shots faced.

On the loss, Head Coach Eboni Preston commented, "We know some things we need to work on and we will continue to improve moving forward.  We are excited for Thursday's game with Bryn Mawr and hope for better results in that game."

SBC travels to Bryn Mawr for a 1 p.m. game with the Owls on Thursday, March 14.
