SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Sweet Briar softball hosted its first games of the season after not playing at home much of the season due to inclement weather. The Vixens swept Maine-Presque Isle in the Tuesday afternoon doubleheader. Both SBC pitchers threw complete games and worked themselves out of some tough spots.
In game one, senior Megan Thompson (Newport News, Va. / Warwick) fanned four Owls in the 9-2 victory. First-year Molly Langford (Dinwiddie, Va. / Richmond Christian) pitched game two and struck out three. The SBC offense kept the runs coming in the 11-3 victory.
First-year Amanda Terry (Richmond, Va. / Hermitage) powered the offense. Through both games the shortstop had five hits and five RBI, including one triple.
SBC looks to continue the winning streak with a doubleheader against Guilford in an ODAC contest on Saturday, April 5th.
