Division III Week Celebration

SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Vixen Athletics kicked off a campus wide celebration of Division III Week by hosting a Old Dominion Athletic Conference tennis match on Monday, April 7.  Each of Sweet Briar's three spring sport teams host home contesst during Division III Week which runs April 7 - 13.

On Monday night, SBC tennis earned a 9-0 victoy over conference rival Hollins University.  The team also celebrated its lone senior, Glory Bowman.  Events continue on Tuesday, April 8, when tennis takes on the visiting Yellow Jackets of Randolph-Macon.  

On Wednesday, April 9 both the lacrosse and softball teams play home contests.  Softball entertains the Yellow Jackets in a twin bill beginning at 3 p.m. while lacrosse welcomes the Roanoke Maroon to campus for a 4:30 p.m. game.  On Wednesday, SBC will honor senior lacrosse player Megan Link prior to the opening draw.  Softball celebrated seniors Mary Earnhart, Brooke Scott, Megan Thompson and Loralei Whittaker on Saturday, April 5.  

Division III Week is a National Collegiate Athletics Association initiative geared to highlighting Division III student-athletes and their many accomplishments as scholars, athletes and citizens.
