Field Notes: Looking Ahead to the Weekend

Soccer

Who They Play:

9/10  vs.  Piedmont  at  1pm

What They Say:

First Year Assistant Coach Amy Dahlin:  This week we are working on fitness.  On the field, we are keying in on decision making.  The players are staying motivated and positive, and they always seem to rise to the occasion no matter what we throw at them in practice.

Sierra Palmieri, senior Co-captain, Forward: Practice this week will be a challenge, mentally and physically.  We are happy with our season opener, and we are looking to recover from Sunday's loss.  We know we will be pushed hard in training sessions leading up to the weekend game, and as a co-captain, I will motivate my teammates and keep things positive.

Rebecca Buechler, sophomore Defense:  In our first game, the team showed a lot of potential.  We have great team chemistry and are working to develop our talents as a team.  I think we are ready to put in the work as we prepare for Saturday's game.

Field Hockey

Who They Play:

9/10   vs.  St. Vincent   @MAPP Invitational   at   3pm      @ Bridgewater (Va.)

9/11   vs.  Hendrix       @MAPP Invitational    at   1pm       @ Bridgewater (Va.)

What They Say:

First Year Assistant Coach Grace Loughhead: I have been thoroughly impressed with this team.  The beginning of our season has seen us come together as a group.  I have been encouraged by how our team positively supports each other, and I believe these important qualities will begin to show up on the scoreboard: beginning this weekend at Bridgewater!

Ariel Yoder, senior Midfielder: The team is absolutely looking forward to this weekend.  This is the best team we have had since I have been here.  It feels like famly.  We play as a team and not as individuals, which will be the key to our success.

Morgan Harris, sophomore Forward:  We have been spending a lot of time together as a team and working hard at practices, and I think it is showing.  We have been working on mentally preparing for this weekend to stay focused and keep our heads in the game.
