Student-Athletes Honored at Annual Awards Banquet
On Friday, May 4, the Sweet Briar athletics department held the annual varsity awards banquet. The event took place in the Fitness and Athletic Center on Sweet Briar’s campus. Upchurch transformed from field house to student-athlete showcase for the end of the year ceremony. The program began with an address by Sweet Briar College president, Jo Ellen Parker.

SBC Hosts Vixen Dash for Special Olympians
The Sweet Briar athletics department hosted a regional Special Olympics Virginia (SOVA) event on Sunday, April 22. ODAC/StellarOne Sportsmanship Teams Announced
FOREST, Va. --- The Old Dominion Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the 2012 ODAC/StellarOne Sportsmanship Teams in each of five winter sports sponsored by the conference. Fitness and Athletics Center Ready for 2011 Homecoming Events
Sweet Briar College kicked off the 2011 Homecoming Weekend on Thursday, October 13. The four-day weekend, billed as a time to “connect to family,” began with alumnae meetings in the Conference Center and a senior thesis art presentation in the Babcock Fine Arts Center. Sweet Briar College Teams Up with Girls on the Run
Sweet Briar College and Girls on the Run of Greater Lynchburg have announced a partnership aimed squarely at achieving their shared goals: educating and empowering young women. "Learn To Swim" Progam Launched
Sweet Briar College Swim Coach and Aquatics Director Jason Gallaher recognized a need for youth swim lessons in the Amherst County area. His solution: launch Sweet Briar College’s first-ever “Learn To Swim” Program. With the county’s only indoor aquatic facility, hosting spring swim lessons in Prothro Natatorium was a no-brainer for Coach Gallaher.

You will not see a frown on our athlete's faces because we have the new facilities that are allowing them full practices inside without roughing it in the cold.

On Tuesday, March 30, 2010, Lizzie Miller, a student in the Nutritional Challenges in the 21st Century class, gave a presentation on Celiac Disease. Lizzie Miller has lived with this autoimmune disease all her life, but didn’t know it until she was 20 years old.
