Fitness and Athletics Center Ready for 2011 Homecoming Events

SWEET BRIAR, Va. --- Sweet Briar College kicked off the 2011 Homecoming Weekend on Thursday, October 13.  The four-day weekend, billed as a time to “connect to family,” began with alumnae meetings in the Conference Center and a senior thesis art presentation in the Babcock Fine Arts Center.  Several events through the weekend are scheduled for the Fitness and Athletic Center.  Additionally, the SBC field hockey team will host two games at Thayer Field.

On Friday, October 14 at 9pm a viewing of the film Secretariat will take place in the 1948 Theater in the FAC.  Saturday’s line up includes a 1pm field hockey game versus Virginia Wesleyan College at Thayer Field.  Prior to the game, Vixen Athletics will honor four field hockey seniors:  Maggie McNamara, Alexander St. Pierre, Madeline Wilson and Ariel Yoder.  Also on Saturday afternoon, a faculty discussion panel on the y:1 Program is scheduled for 2pm in the 1948 Theater.

Homecoming events scheduled for the FAC conclude on Sunday.  The Friends of Athletics Steering Committee will hold at meeting in the 1980 Conference Room in the Crispen Office Suite and at 1pm the Vixen field hockey team plays Sewanee University.
